Pralognan is Savoy's foremost hiking and mountaineering centre. There are more than 30 mountains over 3,000m high, including the Grande Casse (3,855m), the highest mountain in the Vanoise massif, and glaciers ranging in difficulty from the relatively easy Pointe de la Réchasse to the famous Couloir des Italiens (Grande Casse) which is reserved for experienced mountaineers.
